Alejandra S. Kern

Alejandra S. Kern holds a PhD in Social Sciences from FLACSO-Argentina and a BA in International Relations from the Universidad del Salvador. She is currently a Professor in the International Relations program at the National University of San Martín (UNSAM), where she teaches the course on international development cooperation. She also serves as a Technical Advisor on Triangular Cooperation at GIZ.

Her work specializes in international development cooperation and in scientific and technological cooperation, fields in which she has published extensively and conducted consultancy projects for national and international organizations such as UNDP, the OCR-Argentina, the European Union and the EU–LAC Foundation, among others. She has more than twenty years of teaching experience in various postgraduate programs in the area of development cooperation.

Between 2022 and 2023, she served as Director of international studies units within the Secretariat for Strategic Affairs of the Presidency of Argentina. In 2018, during Argentina’s Presidency of the G20, she was the Coordinator of the G20 team at the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security. From 1998 to 2010, she worked in the International Cooperation Department of the National Institute of Industrial Technology (INTI) of Argentina, serving as head of the department from 2002 to 2009.

She has been a Visiting Researcher at the Institut für Iberoamerika-Kunde in Hamburg, Germany, and pursued academic studies at the University of Hamburg with a scholarship from the Konrad Adenauer Foundation
