María Belén Herrero is a researcher at the National Scientific and Technical Research Council (CONICET) and at the International Relations Area of FLACSO Argentina. She holds a degree in Sociology from the University of Buenos Aires (UBA), a specialization in Epidemiology from the National University of Córdoba (UNC), a specialization in International Health from the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), and a PhD in Social Sciences from the University of Buenos Aires (UBA). She has taught in the Master’s Program in International Relations at FLACSO Argentina and in the PhD Program in Social Sciences at UBA, as well as in various regional programs and specialized training courses.
Her teaching and research focus primarily on the following topics: global health and international health; global health financing; South-South and triangular cooperation; and collective health and social epidemiology. She coordinates the Advanced Diploma in South-South and Triangular Cooperation at FLACSO Argentina and the Diploma in International Health. She is a member of international academic networks in international cooperation and global health, and carries out consulting work with regional and international organizations in her areas of specialization.
